Cyprus can expect a mix of sunshine, cloud and rain over the coming days, with isolated thunderstorms possible from Sunday and a slight drop in temperatures forecast for Monday.
According to the Department of Meteorology, weak high pressure is currently affecting the island but will give way to weak low pressure from Sunday.
Saturday will start mostly sunny, although clouds will build in some areas after midday, bringing a chance of brief, isolated showers in the mountains. Winds will reach moderate strength at 4 Beaufort.
Temperatures will rise to around 31°C inland and along the coast, and 20°C in the higher mountains.
Cloud cover will increase at times overnight, with temperatures falling to 19°C inland, around 20°C along the coast and 11°C in the higher mountains.
From Sunday through Tuesday, periods of increased cloud cover are expected, with isolated showers or thunderstorms likely around midday, mainly in the mountains, inland areas and the north.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged on Sunday, staying close to seasonal averages, before falling slightly on Monday. They are expected to remain at similar levels on Tuesday.
