A fire that broke out around midday on Monday in the area stretching from Prodromi towards Neo Chorio, on the boundary of the Prodromi community and next to a residential area, was brought under control quickly.
According to the latest update, fire engines from the Akamas forest observation post and the Drousia forest station responded to the scene and managed to contain the fire immediately; the area is now being secured.
Homes near the fire front were protected during the operation.
The “Astrapi” plan had initially been activated, and aircraft support had been requested. However, once the fire was quickly contained, it was determined that air support would not be needed.
