At a protest today, members of the political party “Active Citizens Movement – Movement of United Cypriot Hunters” gathered at the roundabout of Rizoelia.
The hunters are protesting alleged failures to fulfill pre-election promises by President Nikos Christodoulides.
The party had supported his election campaign.
Hundreds of hunters demonstrated, blocking the Rizoelia roundabout, expressing their frustration, among other issues, about “the plundering and decimation of the native population of game animals.”
With the slogan “Now is the Time for Advocacy,” the Movement called on the Cypriot hunters to actively participate in the protest.
Police were present to regulate traffic.
