Part of a human skull washed up on the coast at Dhekelia on Wednesday, police confirmed, according to the British Bases, which have been mobilised.
A member of the public who found an object resembling a bone alerted the authorities around midday. Police went to the scene and confirmed it was part of a human skull, the Bases said.
There is no information yet on where it came from, when or how it ended up there, or how old it is, according to the Bases.
The scene has been sealed off and examinations have begun.
