April 2 is the deadline for submitting applications to be included on the electoral roll for the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 24, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Interior, all citizens of the Republic aged 18 and over who have had their usual residence in Cyprus for the past six months are eligible to vote.
In a statement, the ministry said “καμία νέα εγγραφή ή/και αλλαγή δεν μπορεί να γίνει στον εκλογικό κατάλογο και ως εκ τούτου, καλούνται οι νέοι εκλογείς να υποβάλουν έγκαιρα την αίτησή τους”.
It also clarified that “δικαίωμα εγγραφής στον εκλογικό κατάλογο έχουν επίσης οι νέοι που συμπληρώνουν το 18ο έτος της ηλικίας τους μέχρι και την ημερομηνία διεξαγωγής των Εκλογών, νοουμένου ότι η αίτηση για εγγραφή θα υποβληθεί στο πλαίσιο της τελευταίας τριμηνιαίας αναθεώρησης του εκλογικού καταλόγου πριν τις εκλογές, δηλαδή από τις 3 Ιανουαρίου 2026 μέχρι και τις 2 Απριλίου 2026”.
The ministry added that Turkish Cypriots holding an identity card of the Republic of Cyprus with an address in the government-controlled areas also have the right to register on the electoral roll.
For people aged up to 25, applications can also be submitted electronically through the elections website at elections.gov.cy.
Printed applications can be submitted at District Administration offices, Citizen Service Centres and Citizen Centres operated by Cyprus Post. Application forms are available at those locations, at the Ministry of Interior and on the elections website.
