A security guard admitted to stealing both jewellery and cash from an apartment block he was supposed to be protecting from intruders and burglars, following his arrest yesterday in Nicosia.
As a 43 year old female resident told the CID, her apartment was broken into between June 25th and August 30th this year.
Jewellery worth 3500 euro and 1360 euro in cash was reported stolen.
Following testimony, the 20 year old security guard was apprehended around eight last night and admitted to breaking and entering, also pointing out the establishment to which he appears to have sold the stolen jewellery.
Hed also admitted to taking 3 thousand euro in cash from an apartment block safe.
The man was remanded in custody by the Nicosia district court, in connection with both cases, as the capital’s CID investigates.
