441 BMW vehicles recalled over driver airbag replacements

Relevant News

BMW has issued a new recall affecting 441 vehicles in Cyprus for driver airbag replacement, according to an announcement from the Department of Road Transport.

The recall is being handled by local distributor Char. Pilakoutas Ltd, which has been informed by the manufacturer about the need for driver-side airbag replacements in specific BMW models.

Owners of affected vehicles who have registered their mobile phone numbers with the Department of Road Transport have already received SMS notifications about the recall.

The department urged vehicle owners to seriously consider the recommendation against using these vehicles that was announced by the Ministry in December 2024.

If continued use is unavoidable, owners are advised to take measures to further reduce risk, such as using alternative vehicles when possible.

Affected vehicle owners are asked to contact the manufacturer’s distributor in Cyprus, Char. Pilakoutas Ltd, for further instructions.
