An 87-year-old man is in critical condition in intensive care after losing control of his car and colliding with a light truck on Wednesday morning in the Nicosia district.
The collision occurred at around 11 am on Griva Digeni Avenue in Kokkinotrimithia, under circumstances that are still being investigated. The elderly driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a light truck driven by a 35-year-old man.
Paramedics took the 87-year-old to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors found he had suffered multiple fractures. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and his condition is described as critical.
The 35-year-old also went to Nicosia General Hospital, where he received first aid and was discharged.
Nicosia traffic police are continuing their investigation.
