A bus company operating routes between the new GSP Stadium and Nicosia under the “Pame Express” programme is extending its service hours to accommodate retail staff finishing work at 7pm and 8pm.
The new timetable, which comes into effect from Monday, November 11, aims to assist workers who previously had no alternative but to use private vehicles, as the last bus from Nicosia to GSP Stadium currently departs at 6pm.
Alexandros Kamperos, speaking on behalf of the company to philenews, said they identified a gap in the return service for retail staff and other workers.
The company has added two additional routes to serve this segment of the population.
When asked, Kamperos confirmed that the new routes are not being implemented on a trial basis but will be established as regular services, ensuring workers can rely on their consistent availability.
The company believes that a significant number of people will now have the option to use the bus service for their return journey, which they expect will help reduce traffic congestion on the road network.
The “Pame Express” service currently handles 290-300 passengers, equivalent to approximately 600 journeys.
