Police are investigating a complaint by an underage girl that a teacher subjected her to serious verbal sexual harassment during an afternoon private lesson, philenews has confirmed.
When the victim is a minor, all sexual offences fall under the single charge of sexual abuse, because the law treats them as equally serious.
The alleged harassment took place outside school hours. The man, who reportedly gives private lessons, also holds a teaching post at a school, which raises a second issue to be investigated.
Police took over the case because of its seriousness.
The Education Ministry is expected to take all necessary action in parallel.
