Theatre
Nicosia, Municipal Theatre, 8pm. Running time: 65 minutes. The legendary Comédie-Française makes its first appearance in Cyprus with “L’Événement” (“The Event”), based on the searing autobiographical work by Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux. Conceived and performed by Françoise Gillard, the production is part of the Nicosia International Festival 2026. The story of a young woman in 1963 doesn’t stay locked in the past. It revives a question societies still grapple with: how free is a woman to decide about her own body? With Greek and English surtitles. Tickets: more.com
