Police have arrested a 46-year-old building contractor and a 53-year-old concrete pump operator after a 52-year-old worker died in a construction site accident in Peyia on Saturday.
The victim was Konstantinos Posnagkov, from Georgia, who held a Greek passport.
Police are investigating a case of causing death through a reckless, negligent or dangerous act and have arrested the two men based on court warrants.
According to police, the fatal accident happened at around 2 pm at a building under construction while ready-mix concrete was being poured.
Police said two overhead power cables carrying 11,000 volts were severed following incorrect handling of the concrete pump arm.
