A coalition of activist groups, including Genocide Free Cyprus, Cyprus Peace Council, BDS Cyprus and KISA, has called for a mass protest outside the Presidential Palace at 6:30pm, condemning the visit and calling on Christodoulides to end what it describes as Israel’s growing military cooperation with Cyprus.
Thursday’s meeting is Herzog’s third visit to Cyprus since taking office. His first, in March 2022, was a stopover en route to Turkey, during which he offered assurances to then-President Nicos Anastasiades. His most recent prior visit, in January 2025, focused on the situation in Syria and drew several hundred protesters outside the Presidential Palace organised by the Cyprus Peace Council.
