Limassol Traffic Police arrested a 34-year-old driver at around 11:10 pm on Thursday after clocking him at more than double the speed limit on a bypass road, and finding him over the alcohol limit and under the influence of drugs.
According to case details, the driver was travelling at 177km/h in an 80km/h zone. A breath test showed an alcohol reading of 29μg, above the legal limit of 22μg, and he was also found to be under the influence of drugs.
Police arrested the driver, and the case has been filed before court for immediate hearing.
