ETYFA launches tender to complete Vasilikos LNG terminal

ETYFA (the Natural Gas Infrastructure Company) published the long-awaited tender yesterday for services and works to complete the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Import Terminal Project at Vasilikos.

The tender comes two years and a few days after Chinese contractor CPP’s contract was unilaterally terminated. CPP had won the original 2019 tender, before the contract was terminated on July 18, 2024.

The new tender follows a Restricted Procedure, including a prequalification stage for interested contractors. Under this process, interested parties must first submit an application to participate, and only those who are prequalified will be invited to submit a full technical and financial offer.

The estimated value of the remaining works at Vasilikos stands at €180 million, with the construction contract’s duration estimated at two years.

The project covers works and services relating to:

completion of the LNG terminal
construction works for the oil and gas industry
construction of gas terminal facilities
offshore fabrication
engineering, architectural, inspection and technical support services
specialised oil and gas sector services

According to the tender documents, the contract will be awarded on the basis of the Best Price–Quality Ratio, meaning ETYFA is not obliged to select the lowest financial bid. As a result, the technical evaluation of each proposal carries added weight.

Interested parties can submit questions or requests for clarification to ETYFA until August 26, 2026. The deadline for submitting bids has been set for September 9, 2026, at noon.
