Nicosia Municipal Theatre, at the centre of the city’s cultural activity, is launching a new series of free-entry events titled “On the Side”, taking place on the last Sunday of each month from 28 June until the end of August.
The theatre’s outdoor areas and garden will be transformed into an open-air summer space featuring music, cocktails, stand-up comedy, screenings and a relaxed Sunday atmosphere.
The series begins on Sunday, 28 June, with a jazz-focused opening event titled “Jazz on the Side”, running from 17:00 to 23:00.
Three of the most dynamic jazz groups on the Cypriot music scene will perform consecutively: Trio in Cahoots, Charis Ioannou Quartet and Chunky Funky.
The evening will move from jazz standards to contemporary jazz and funk-influenced rhythms. The programme is curated by Christos Yerolatsitis.
An outdoor bar serving drinks and cocktails will operate throughout the event.
Admission is free.
