He has no communication with ‘Sandy’ and in fact no one knows her whereabouts, attorney Nicos Clerides said, following a Supreme Court decision that will allow him a chance at overturning last month’s search warrant request at his home and premises.

In remarks on Antenna’s noon current affairs programme, Clerides that he has a week to file the relevant certiorari order and submit the documents to the Attorney General, who will decide whether to accept the petition or file a motion to dismiss.

The former ‘Sandy’ attorney said that the Supreme Court decision to grant him a certiorari was based on well-documented arguments, adding that there was no just cause for any material evidence to be connected to his premises.

‘There was no testimony of any personal involvement in writing up these fake messages’, he added.

He further claimed that ‘false information’ was passed on to the media, aimed at preventing the correct line of enquiry.

Clerides believes that the warrant against him was an unacceptable police attempt at ‘fishing testimony’ and further critisised the court for granting it.

‘The whole thing was a cause of great psychological pressure, with massive personal and professional repercussions’, he went on to add.

Asked whether he will be filing lawsuits against the Republic if the warrant is overturned, he said this was something that will be decided in consultation with his lawyers at a later stage.
