The United States and other partners have asked Ukraine to share its expertise in defending against Iranian Shahed drones, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday, as the weapons wreaked havoc across the Middle East.
“Partners are turning to us, to Ukraine, asking for help in defending against Shahed drones, with expertise and real operational experience,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address. “There have also been requests from the American side.”
Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials have previously suggested that Kyiv could share its hard-won drone defence expertise with countries in the Middle East, in exchange for their help persuading Russia to observe a ceasefire in the four-year war pitting Ukraine against Moscow.
