A drone struck Kuwait’s international airport on Saturday, lightly injuring several workers and causing limited material damage, the Kuwaiti state news agency reported, as Iran pressed ahead with a wave of strikes targeting U.S. bases across the region.
Kuwait’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation confirmed that a number of airport staff sustained light injuries in the attack.
Qatar meanwhile announced it was temporarily suspending navigation in its territorial waters following Iranian strikes on U.S. military bases in the Gulf, primarily Al-Udeid Air Base near Doha. “In the interest of public safety, the Ministry of Transport calls on all maritime vessels, whether privately or commercially owned, to temporarily suspend their navigation,” the ministry said in a statement.
In Bahrain, all-clear sirens sounded following an earlier alert, the Interior Ministry announced. The ministry nonetheless urged residents to avoid leaving their homes unless necessary and to await further instructions from authorities.
