Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that Ankara «will never abandon the national cause of Cyprus». Erdoğan made the statement in his message marking the anniversary of the illegal declaration of the breakaway state.
«I sincerely congratulate the 42nd anniversary of the declaration of the TRNC and send my greetings and warm wishes to our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters on this special day,» the Turkish President wrote in a post on the X platform, referring to the self-styled state.
«I commemorate our heroic martyrs with mercy and honour our veterans with gratitude. We will never abandon our national cause of Cyprus and will continue to strengthen our solidarity with the Turkish Cypriot people in every field,» he added.
