Israel attacks Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility as strikes hit central Tehran

Relevant News

Israel has carried out a fresh strike on Iran’s underground Fordow nuclear site south of Tehran, according to Iranian media reports cited by AFP.

“The aggressor attacked the Fordow nuclear site again,” Tasnim news agency reported, quoting a spokesperson for the crisis management authority in Qom province where the facility is located.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the military is attacking targets in central Tehran with “unprecedented intensity,” according to Reuters.

The strikes represent a significant escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran, with the Fordow facility being a highly sensitive nuclear installation buried deep underground. The site has been a focal point of international concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.

The attacks on central Tehran mark a dramatic intensification of Israeli military operations against Iranian targets, with the defence minister’s description of “unprecedented intensity” suggesting a major escalation in the scope and scale of the strikes.
