Eight people were remanded in custody by the Nicosia District Court on Thursday following their arrest on suspicion of terrorism-related offences.
The suspects were arrested during a coordinated operation led by the Cyprus Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Limassol and Paphos.
According to police sources, authorities received intelligence suggesting the individuals were involved in financing a terrorist organisation in Syria and drug trafficking.
The suspects had been under surveillance for some time before the raids were carried out.
Among those arrested were a couple, with five suspects residing in Limassol and three in Paphos. Officers conducted searches at four locations in Limassol and three in Paphos.
Authorities remain tight-lipped about further details of the case, citing the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation.
