Police launched a manhunt on Thursday after a convicted murderer serving a life sentence escaped while on temporary release.
Theodoros Theofanous, 42, was convicted in 2012 for the murders of his pregnant girlfriend, Julia Oporok, 24, and her three-year-old daughter, Viktoria. Theofanous, a hairdresser, had been granted temporary leave to visit relatives in Paphos when he disappeared.
The double homicide occurred in December 2011. Theofanous had shot his girlfriend and suffocated her daughter.
Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to Theofanous’ arrest.
