What’s on this week — theatre marking two decades, a summer film marathon, mandolin music in Paphos and a handful of exhibitions across the island.

THEATRE

Dali, Idalio Amphitheatre, 8.30pm. The Theatrical Group “Paravasi” of Lympia’s Theatre Festival marks twenty years of continuous presence this year, returning from August 26 to September 13 at the Idalio Amphitheatre with ten evenings of performances by amateur groups from across Cyprus. The anniversary edition honours two decades during which the festival became a landmark for Cypriot amateur theatre, giving a platform to dozens of groups, creators and actors while building a loyal audience that follows its productions every year. The curtain rises today with an anniversary ceremony dedicated to the festival’s twenty years, bringing together past and present actors from “Paravasi” to share memories from the festival’s history, alongside footage from all previous editions.
