Here is what’s on in Cyprus today, with special screenings, theatre and exhibitions across the island.
Screenings
The Pantheon cinema in Nicosia opens the LUX Audience Award 2026 screenings tonight at 8.30pm with Love Me Tender, directed by Anna Cazenave Cambet. The French film follows Clémence, whose life is turned upside down when her ex-husband takes her to court to strip her of custody of their son after she reveals she has been in relationships with women. The film traces her long fight to defend her right to be both a mother and a woman free to make her own choices. France, 2025, 134 minutes.
The Limassol Film Club, in partnership with Alliance Française Limassol as part of Francophonie Month, screens Pause by Tonia Mishiali at the Rio cinema in Limassol at 8.15pm. The film follows Elpida, whose years of accumulated frustration find an outlet in desire for a younger man, a drive for revenge against her domineering husband and a need for liberation, against the backdrop of the menopause. The award-winning film took the FIPRESCI prize for best Greek film at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Starring Stella Fyrogeni, Andreas Vassiliou and Popi Avraam. 96 minutes. Greek with English subtitles.
