The Olympic Swimming Pool in Larnaca, managed by the Cyprus Sports Organisation (CSO) has fallen into a state of disrepair, philenews reported on Monday.

Images shared with philenews show mouldy changing rooms, broken showers, and deteriorating walls.

The pool, which serves hundreds of people including members of the Swimming Federation, Naval Clubs, and participants in youth and adult programmes, has become a cause for concern.

CSO President Yiannis Ioannou acknowledged receiving complaints about the facility’s condition. He told philenews that a contracted maintenance company would address the issues.

“Instructions were given to repair the showers and address the other problems”, Ioannou said. He added that he had requested a proposal for a complete renovation of the changing room and shower area.
