Cyprus’s Special Olympics football team returned home on Monday with a gold medal after finishing first in Group B at a unified football tournament in Gyor, Hungary.
The three-day tournament, held from October 9 to 11, brought together 16 teams from Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and Cyprus.
The Cyprus Special Olympics Federation said the tournament promoted inclusion through sport. It thanked the Cyprus Football Association for its long-standing support.
