Two dolphins were observed swimming near the shore in the Potima coastal area of Paphos, providing a rare natural spectacle for those in the area.

Footage shared on social media by the Mr. Droner Cyprus page shows the mammals swimming and surfacing in the waters.

Cyprus’s waters host a variety of dolphin species, with the common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) being the most frequently observed, particularly in coastal areas.

Other species include the striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba), short-beaked common dolphin (Delphinus delphis), Risso’s dolphin (Grampus griseus), and the rough-toothed dolphin (Steno bredanensis). These species have been documented through various surveys and observations in Cypriot waters.
