President Nikos Christodoulides will meet Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman on May 8 at 4pm at the residence of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists at the Presidential Palace, Letymbiotis said the regular meetings between Christodoulides and Erhürman confirmed “our steady pursuit of maintaining open and sincere channels of communication.”
He said their aim was “to contribute, step by step, to creating the conditions for the resumption of substantive negotiations.”
The two leaders will continue their discussion from where they left off at their previous meeting, Letymbiotis said.
