Fire service and marine police rescued a woman with a sprained ankle from a rocky beach in Pomos in the Paphos district on Sunday evening, authorities said.
The rescue operation began at approximately 17:20 when fire service responded to an ambulance service request for assistance with the injured woman at the coastal area.
Fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis said the terrain proved too dangerous for conventional ambulance evacuation due to the rocky nature of the coastline.
Marine police were requested to assist through the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Centre. The injured woman was placed on a spinal board and transferred to a marine police vessel.
The rescue team transported the woman by sea to Latsi harbour, where ambulance services took over for transfer to the Accident and Emergency Department at Polis Chrysochous Hospital.
