Three armed masked individuals entered the home of a couple in Chloraka but left empty-handed, having failed to locate any cash or items of value.
According to philenews, the attempted robbery took place when the male resident responded to a knock on his door, only to be confronted and assaulted by one of the suspects wielding a metal object.
His calls for help alerted his wife, who was next door attending to her mother. She was met by a second assailant, who served as a lookout, and was forcibly restrained, having her mobile phone taken.
After their search for valuables proved fruitless, the suspects fled with a getaway car, where a third accomplice awaited them as the driver.
Paphos Police are investigating the case.
