Three large waterspouts appeared off the coast of Protaras at around 8am on Friday, as heavy rain began to fall in the area.
Residents filmed the waterspouts, and the footage is already circulating widely online.
The Department of Meteorology said the weather would be mainly cloudy for the rest of the day, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms, mostly in the mountains, inland and in the north and east. Hail is possible during thunderstorms.
Winds will be moderate, force 4, but may turn variable and strengthen to strong, force 6, during thunderstorms.
