Drug squad officers arrested two men following a raid on a Nicosia flat today.
Members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (Ykan) searched the property under a judicial warrant as part of an ongoing intelligence-gathering operation.
Officers found two men inside the flat, aged 29 and 24, who were taken into custody.
During a further search of the apartment, officers discovered and seized:
- Herbal matter with a total gross weight of 112 grams
- Cannabis with a total gross weight of 12 grams
- Black powder with a total gross weight of 33 grams
- A set of precision scales bearing traces of cannabis
- €840 in cash
Police re-arrested both men on drug offences and placed them in custody. They are expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court tomorrow morning for a remand hearing.
