A 29-year-old man has been charged with the sexual abuse of a minor in Limassol, following a months-long investigation by the Police Headquarters’ Juvenile Sexual Abuse Investigation Unit.
The abuse allegedly began in 2023 when the victim was 15 years old.
The case came to light after the accused reported being physically attacked by the minor and others.
However, when questioned, the minor revealed details of prolonged sexual abuse.
The case was filed at the Limassol Criminal Court today (29/11), with the hearing scheduled for early next year.
The defendant has been released under strict conditions.
The investigation was conducted under strict confidentiality by police investigators, who gathered evidence leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The case was initially brought before the Limassol District Court last week, where investigators requested the detention of the accused.
