Passengers have reported chaos, queues and intense frustration at Larnaca Airport on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 8, 2026, describing conditions of severe overcrowding and hours-long waits.

Among the accounts, one from a mother travelling alone with her 18-month-old child stands out. She says she had to remain standing for around two and a half hours, facing successive queues from the pushchair check to passport control, and risked missing her flight as a result.

The complaints point to understaffing, difficulties serving families with young children, high temperatures and scenes of suffocating overcrowding, with passengers calling on the authorities for answers and for measures to be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
