The Department of Forests told philenews there are reasonable indications that the large fire between Koshi and Athienou was started deliberately.
The department said members of the Department of Forests and Police are currently carrying out examinations at the scene.
The fire broke out at 13:35 on Friday afternoon and was contained after burning 25 hectares of reeds and wild vegetation.
