A large fire that broke out at a small factory making bakery products in industrial Aradippou was brought under control shortly after 8pm, though it caused major damage inside the building, the Fire Service said.
The fire caused disruption in the area due to thick smoke that filled the atmosphere. Strong Fire Service and Search and Rescue Unit (EMAK) crews responded to the scene, with ambulances also dispatched as a precaution.
No one was inside the factory at the time. Fire crews will remain at the scene throughout the night.
