Ecology party raises alarm over Orunda poultry farm

Relevant News

The construction of a poultry-intensive farming unit in the community of Orunda has sparked reactions, in a community that has been plagued for decades by livestock, pig farming, poultry farming units, and more.

According to a statement by the Green Movement, the operation of yet another poultry breeding and slaughtering unit is already causing reactions among residents who have been informed of the developments and feel that its construction will bring problems, both for themselves and for residents.

Moreover, the location designated for construction is close to the monastery of St. Nicholas, which receives many visitors.

Additionally, situating the unit in the western part of the community where the wind usually blows will create problems.

The Green Movement – Citizen Cooperation strongly disagrees with the approval of the application for the construction of the above-mentioned unit, and this disagreement has been expressed in a letter to the Director of the Department of Urban Planning.

Therefore, the Movement calls on the Authorities not to allow the construction of such a unit, which will affect the quality of life of residents and burden the wider environment of the area.
