The weather on Friday will be mostly fine across most of Cyprus, but isolated showers or a brief thunderstorm are expected in the mountains, inland and on the north coast in the early afternoon.
Locally increased cloud may also bring isolated showers to coastal areas.
Temperatures will rise to around 26 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and to around 16 degrees in the higher mountains.
Winds will be variable and light, 3 Beaufort, in the morning, later turning mainly south-westerly to westerly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. On the south-east coast, they will be strong, 5 Beaufort, in the afternoon.
The sea will be moderate in the west and north, and in the south-east in the afternoon, and calm to slightly rough elsewhere.
Weekend and Monday
On Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers expected in the afternoon. Local rain is expected at night, mainly in the western half of the island.
Sunday and Monday will be mostly fine, with spells of increased cloud.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly and will stay slightly below the seasonal average, at least inland and in the mountains.
