The aircraft, which was scheduled to land at Larnaca airport, triggered security alerts shortly before touchdown when information emerged about suspicious passenger activity. Officials have not confirmed reports of a potential hijacking attempt.
Large contingents of police and fire service personnel were immediately mobilised as part of the emergency response.
