Cyprus Post has issued a public warning about a new attempt to deceive individuals through Facebook, claiming to sell unclaimed parcels stored in postal warehouses.
In an official statement, Cyprus Post highlights that the page named “Cyprus Postal Service,” bearing the logo of Cyprus Post, is illegal.
Cyprus Post states, “We have no involvement and urge the public to exercise extreme caution.”
To identify whether a communication or post is genuinely from Cyprus Post, citizens are advised to check if the posts refer to the official website of the department, www.cypruspost.post. Additionally, they should be cautious when “payments are not processed through the JCCSmart online payment platform but through another electronic address.”
It is also emphasized that Cyprus Post “does not store unclaimed parcels, as, in the case of non-delivery, they are returned to the sender.”
This warning comes as part of Cyprus Post’s efforts to protect the public from fraudulent activities on social media platforms, ensuring that individuals do not fall victim to scams claiming to be associated with the postal service.
