The vehicle that caught fire on a dirt road in the Avgorou area on Saturday morning reportedly belongs to an elderly British national.
According to police sources, the elderly man had travelled to an animal shelter accompanied by his domestic worker and his dog. Under circumstances currently under investigation, the vehicle caught fire, and the man failed to escape the car in time.
During examinations at the scene, responders discovered a charred body located outside the vehicle.
A forensic pathologist visited the scene to conduct the necessary examinations, whilst police continue their investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
