The stations have been installed at the following locations: Kato Pyrgos community; Nicosia General Hospital car park; a car park in the Larnaca area; Choirokoitia Archaeological Site car park; Limassol General Hospital car park; Kyperounta General Hospital car park; Troodos Square car park; Trimiklini Church car park; Tombs of the Kings bus station car park in Paphos; Polis Chrysochous bus station car park; and Famagusta Hospital Health Centre car park.
Each station offers fast charging and accepts payment via mobile app or card reader.
The total cost of the project came to approximately €918,000, including VAT and five years of maintenance. The project was carried out by the Department of Electromechanical Services.
The Ministry said it is continuing to plan further expansion of the island’s EV charging infrastructure.
Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades said the transition to electric mobility requires the development of appropriate infrastructure across the whole of Cyprus, adding that targeted interventions are gradually building a more modern and sustainable transport system.
