An 18-year-old appeared before Larnaca District Court and was remanded in custody for eight days in connection with two armed robberies of food delivery drivers.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday evening in Larnaca after police received reports of someone attempting to break into parked cars.
Officers found and seized drug paraphernalia containing a small amount of cannabis, brass knuckles, a balaclava, a knife, and two sets of car keys.
Police investigations revealed outstanding arrest warrants linking the suspect to two armed robberies of delivery drivers that occurred on January 7.
The suspect has a history of car break-ins and thefts, according to philenews sources.
In the first incident, a 21-year-old delivery driver reported being robbed at knifepoint in central Larnaca by multiple assailants who stole his moped, mobile phone, and cash.
Later that evening, three masked individuals, one armed with a gun and two with knives, robbed a 22-year-old delivery driver in Tersefanou, taking cash, motorcycle keys, and a mobile phone.
Police are still searching for three additional suspects in connection with the robberies.
