Several people were wounded in northern Israel on Thursday after Hezbollah launched an anti-tank missile attack from southern Lebanon, Israeli media reported.

The assault, which targeted an area near Menara in Upper Galilee, involved at least two missiles, according to local sources. The injured received initial treatment at the scene before being transferred to hospital, the Times of Israel said.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck the launch site in Lebanon, a military spokesperson confirmed.

The incident follows overnight air strikes by Israeli fighter jets on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. The IDF said it had targeted buildings used by the militant group in Chihine, Taybeh, Blida, Mays al-Jabal Aitaroun and Kafr Kila. A drone strike also hit a Hezbollah weapons depot in Hiam, the army added.

Footage of the strikes was released by the Israeli military.

Tensions have escalated since a recent explosion killed several Hezbollah operatives, which the group blamed on Israeli sabotage. In a statement on Wednesday, Hezbollah vowed to continue its fight against Israel along the border, warning of further retaliation.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled to make his first public address since the deadly explosions in a speech on Thursday afternoon.
