EU warns Middle East situation ‘perilous’ as bloc seeks diplomatic path

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned on Saturday that “the latest developments across the Middle East are perilous,” saying the bloc was coordinating with Arab partners to explore diplomatic paths forward.

Kallas said she had spoken with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, and that Europe’s consular network was engaged in facilitating departures for EU citizens in the region.
