Israel said that the hit targeted the Hezbollah commander it says was responsible for the attack on the Golan Heights on Saturday, which killed some 12 children and young adults while playing football.
Israel has blamed the Iran-backed militant group for Saturday’s strike on the Druze town of Majdal Shams, but Hezbollah has strongly denied any involvement.
