The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEBE) President Stavros Stavrou and Secretary General Marios Tsiakkis will meet with Energy, Commerce and Industry Minister George Papanastasiou on Friday morning to discuss concerns about the e-kalathi price monitoring system.

The meeting follows today’s discussion at the Chamber with representatives from the Consumer Goods Association, the Retail Trade Association, and the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Association, which includes several supermarket chains.

“A series of significant and substantial issues were identified that trade representatives feel need clarification to ensure the e-kalathi tool can be implemented correctly and serve its purpose without problems”, Tsiakkis told reporters after Thursday’s meeting.

The Chamber agreed to bring these concerns to the minister’s attention to discuss whether the issues have been adequately addressed, Tsiakkis added.
