Seat redistribution heads to Parliament

Relevant News

The bill to change the number of parliamentary seats in Nicosia and Paphos has been submitted to the House of Representatives.

Shifts in population don’t automatically trigger changes in seat allocation—it requires Parliament to pass a law.

The bill has already been tabled in the Plenary so it can be referred to the Parliamentary Committee on Internal Affairs, then return to the Plenary for a vote.

The seat redistribution may not satisfy everyone, but it’s expected to pass in the end.
