A restaurant owner at Limassol Old Port has been targeted by arsonists for a second time after a deliberately lit fire damaged outdoor seating equipment and parts of the premises early on Saturday morning, police said.
The fire broke out at around 4.55am in the restaurant’s outdoor dining area, where seating equipment caught fire.
According to police, this was the second time the restaurant owner had been targeted in an arson attack.
The Fire Service said the flames and heat also damaged the restaurant’s glass frontage and part of its wooden flooring.
A security guard extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived, using a hose connected to a fixed firefighting point at the premises.
Firefighters subsequently inspected the scene and checked that the blaze had been completely extinguished.
